MVP Development Cost Calculator (2026)

Estimate what a minimum viable product costs in 2026 — the smallest version that proves the idea.

How this estimate is built

The calculator adds nothing you can't see. The range is the base range for the complexity you pick, plus the features you tick, multiplied by the factor for where the team is based. Results are rounded to the nearest $500.

ComplexityMultiplierBase range, global averageTimeline
Basic / MVP×0.55$8,500 – $25,0004–6 weeks
Standard×1$15,000 – $45,0008–12 weeks
Complex / Enterprise×1.9$28,500 – $85,5003–5 months

User accounts$2,000 – $5,000
Payments$3,000 – $8,000
One key integration$2,500 – $6,000
Basic admin$3,000 – $7,000
Web + mobile$5,000 – $12,000

North America×1.6
Western Europe×1.35
Eastern Europe / Ukraine×0.85
Latin America×0.75
South / SE Asia×0.6

Example: a Standard MVP with no extra features, built by a team charging the global average, comes out at $15,000 – $45,000. Complex scope with all five features and a North American team comes out at $70,500 – $197,500.

The ranges are Vitasoft’s own editorial model, not quotes from vendors. We publish every number so you can check the model against market data and against the proposals you get.

What the estimate covers, and what it leaves out

It covers building the first version with the features you tick. These costs sit outside it:

Time the calculator doesn’t show

The timeline above is build time. Store review adds a little, and one Play rule adds more. Apple says App Review handles at least 50% of submissions in under 24 hours and 90% in under 48 (Apple). Google Play requires new personal developer accounts to run a closed test with at least 12 testers, opted in for at least 14 days in a row, before the app can go to production (Play Console Help). If your Play account is new and personal, put those two weeks in the plan. What’s normal for MVP timelines lists the other checkpoints.

How the ranges compare with market data

Clutch puts the average app development project at $90,780.11, about $8,188.44 a month over roughly 11 months, based on client reviews on its site (Clutch, updated September 21, 2026). Those figures cover whole app projects, not only first versions. An MVP quote above that average deserves a second look: ask which features could move to version two.

Using the estimate with a real quote

Line up the vendor’s quote against the feature rows above. Ask for the price of each feature, and for what is out of scope, in writing. Check how the quote is structured: vendor pricing models compared explains when fixed price or milestones protect you. Before you sign, vet the developer’s portfolio, then compare app development companies in our rankings.

Get matched — and let the companies come to you

Tell us about the project. We match it to relevant companies from our rankings, and they reach out to you — no chasing.

No spam. We pass your brief to relevant vendors from our rankings — paid placement never affects who we rank.
