eCommerce Website Cost Calculator (2026)

Estimate the cost of an online store in 2026 — by scope, integrations and region.

How this estimate is built

The calculator adds nothing you can't see. The range is the base range for the complexity you pick, plus the features you tick, multiplied by the factor for where the team is based. Results are rounded to the nearest $500.

ComplexityMultiplierBase range, global averageTimeline
Basic / MVP×0.55$4,500 – $16,5004–6 weeks
Standard×1$8,000 – $30,0002–4 months
Complex / Enterprise×1.9$15,000 – $57,0005–9 months
FeatureAdds, before the location factor
Custom checkout$3,000 – $9,000
ERP / inventory integration$4,000 – $12,000
Multi-currency / region$1,500 – $4,500
Subscriptions$3,000 – $8,000
Multi-vendor marketplace$8,000 – $25,000
Product information (PIM)$3,000 – $9,000

North America×1.6
Western Europe×1.35
Eastern Europe / Ukraine×0.85
Latin America×0.75
South / SE Asia×0.6

Example: a Standard store with no extra features, built by a team charging the global average, comes out at $8,000 – $30,000. Complex scope with all six features and a North American team comes out at $60,500 – $199,000.

The ranges are Vitasoft’s own editorial model, not quotes from vendors. We publish every number so you can check the model against market data and against the proposals you get.

What the estimate covers, and what it leaves out

It covers designing and building the store with the features you tick. These sit outside it:

How much card-payment compliance work lands on you depends on how checkout is built. Stripe, for example, explains that collecting card details on its hosted fields means the data doesn’t pass through your servers, which reduces your PCI DSS obligations (Stripe). Ask the vendor which approach the quote assumes.

How the ranges compare with market data

Clutch, which bases its figures on client reviews of the firms it lists, says most e-commerce development reviewed there cost less than $10,000, while the average project cost $51,943.13 over a typical 9 months (Clutch, updated September 21, 2026). The gap between those two numbers is the point: a few large builds pull the average up. Our Basic and Standard tiers sit around the typical project; Complex with integrations sits nearer the average and above it.

Using the estimate with a real quote

If your catalogue and checkout are standard, a hosted platform may do the job for less: the Shopify store calculator prices that route, and build vs buy software covers the decision. Ask for a price per feature and acceptance criteria in writing (software development contract: what “done” means), and keep the store, domain and payment accounts in your company’s name (who owns your code, domain and ad accounts).
